Wick Care Farm
Wick Care Farm was established in 2014 by Jo Ballin and Isobel Meikle. Situated upon Wick Grange Farm, we welcomed our first clients in May 2014.
In 2019, with the support of a growing team of staff and volunteers, we became a Community Interest Company (CIC).
In 2023, we were proudly awarded the Green Care Quality Mark, celebrating our commitment to excellence within the green care sector.

Isobel & Tom are Directors of Wick Care Farm CIC, alongside Hattie who originally joined as a volunteer in 2020. Our fantastic staff come from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, including teaching; occupational therapy; counselling; and gardening.

Isobel —
Director
Isobel is an experienced teacher and has worked in therapeutic communities for people in mental recovery. Isobel's main role is to manage the care farm business. On a day to day basis, she gets stuck into most activities at the care farm. She is very keen on the 'field to fork' message, and enjoys the process of growing vegetables, cooking and eating together as a community

Andrea
Andrea is a former teacher with a particular passion for the great outdoors, travelling, wildlife and nature. She regularly leads creative activities and DIY projects and is always on the lookout for new ideas and inspiration. Andrea’s cheerful and infectious laughter can be heard around the farm when she is working. Her favourite animals on the farm are the turkeys.

Eleanor — Occupational Therapist
Eleanor's main role is to manage the therapeutic input at the Care Farm, having previously worked as an NHS community Occupational Therapist.
When volunteering at the Care Farm, a vaccancy came available and she hasn't looked back since. She has fully embraced the transition from office to outdoors.

Izzy
Izzy joined the team at Wick Care Farm in 2023, having spent the summer working on different smallholdings across Spain. She's passionate about the therapeutic benefits of care farming, and supports Isobel in managing our wonderful animals. You will always find her smiling, laughing and enjoying every minute at Wick Care Farm!

Joel —
Duty Manager
With a background as a chef, RHS-trained gardener & musician, Joel brings a range of experience to his role as Duty Manager at the Care Farm. He can often be found on the allotment, and is passionate about supporting people to plant and grow veg for our home-cooked lunches.
When not at the Care Farm, Joel can be spotted (and heard!) playing music and spending time with his family.

Jack
Jack started volunteering at the Care Farm in 2020, before joining as a staff member in 2022. Jack is a BACP-registered Counsellor, and is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of the Care Farm.
The farm is also supported by a wider team of wonderful volunteers, whose diverse skills, knowledge and experience continues to shape Wick Care Farm today.
